CellNotes Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

CellNotes is a note-taking app for Mac, iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: CellNotes does not collect any data about you.

What we collect

Nothing. CellNotes has no account system, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer does not receive your notes, your usage, your device details or any other information from the app.

Where your notes are stored

Your notes, images and attachments are saved as files in a location you choose in Settings:

Deleting the app or the files removes your notes. Notes in iCloud Drive can also be managed from Finder or the Files app.

Network use

CellNotes does not send your notes anywhere. The app connects to the internet only when:

The libraries used to display Markdown, code, math and diagrams are built into the app.

Clipboard, files and photos

CellNotes reads the clipboard only when you choose to paste, for example with "Paste Image". It opens files only when you pick them, for example to attach a file or import a library.

Crash reports

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide anonymous crash reports. These come from Apple, under Apple's terms, and contain no note content.

Children

CellNotes collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
